Summary

Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is present in the thyroid gland, but this study found no evidence of its significant role in human thyroid cancer, unlike in other cancers. PAF metabolic pathways appear regulated in normal thyroid tissue.

Background:

  • Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is a pro-inflammatory and angiogenic lipid mediator implicated in various human cancers.
