Abstract:
PTH is one of the promising bone forming agents. However, its mechanism for bone formation remains unknown. The putative accumulating hypothesis about the mechanism is the following;the involvement of local bone forming growth factors, such as insulin-like growth factor-I, anti-apoptotic actions through Runx2 and Smad3 etc, the transcriptional regulators, such as AP-1 and CREB. The research for the action of PTH would bring the development of effective PTH treatment and the investment of agents, which are more effective to increase bone formation.
