Abstract:
Telomerase synthesizes telomeric DNA repeats at the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes and inhibits of natural senescence of different cells. Its increased activity has been found in most malignant tumors. This article is a review on current knowledge about diagnostic and prognostic value of telomerase in malignancies.
