Spiral CT for pulmonary embolism.

Summary

Spiral computed tomographic (CT) angiography is a highly accurate, noninvasive test for pulmonary embolism. Its high negative predictive value makes it the recommended first-line diagnostic imaging test for patients with suspected pulmonary embolism.

Pulmonary embolism (PE) diagnosis is challenging with traditional methods like ventilation perfusion scans.
