Abstract:
Recognizing how the transport setting affects the patient, and the required therapies to support the patient, is a critical aspect of patient care. Transporting an acutely or critically ill patient, be they neonatal, pediatric, maternal, adult medical, or trauma patients, requires an in-depth understanding of the application of sedation in the transport setting, both therapeutic and adverse effects, and how to manage those effects for the best patient outcome.
