Elevated plasma chemokine CCL18/PARC in beta-thalassemia

Plasma CCL18/PARC levels are elevated in beta-thalassemia major patients, similar to Gaucher disease. These levels correlate with iron overload and may help monitor therapy compliance in beta-thalassemia.
