A rare case of neonatal aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage involved multiple cerebral aneurysms. Endovascular coiling successfully treated the anterior communicating artery aneurysm, leading to significant recovery.
Area of Science:
- Neurology
- Pediatric Neurosurgery
- Vascular Neurology
Background:
- Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is exceptionally rare in neonates.
- Cerebral aneurysms in the neonatal population present unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
Observation:
- A neonate presented with a large anterior communicating artery aneurysm, an accessory left middle cerebral artery aneurysm, and a left internal carotid artery (ICA) fusiform aneurysm.
- The neonate experienced left ICA occlusion and subsequent aneurysm rupture.
Findings:
- This case describes the first reported instance of multiple cerebral aneurysms in a neonate.
- Endovascular treatment using detachable coils was successfully performed on the large anterior communicating artery aneurysm.
- The patient demonstrated a significant clinical recovery following the intervention.
Implications:
- This report highlights the possibility of multiple aneurysms in neonatal aSAH, a previously undescribed phenomenon.
- It also underscores the potential efficacy and safety of endovascular treatment for complex neonatal cerebral aneurysms.
- Further research into the etiology and management of neonatal cerebral aneurysms is warranted.

Multiple Regression
Farmers can use multiple regression to determine the crop yield based on more than one factor, such as water availability, fertilizer, soil properties, etc. Here, the crop yield is the response or dependent variable as it depends on the other independent variables. The analysis requires the construction of a scatter plot...
