Summary

N-chlorotaurine (NCT) converts to N,N-dichlorotaurine (NDCT) in acidic conditions. NDCT is less effective than NCT in chlorinating amines but shows increased bactericidal activity against Gram-negative bacteria, though not suitable for medical use.
