Abstract:
A new flow injection chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of Ciprofloxacin (CPLX) was described. The method was based on the weak CL reaction of Ce(IV)-SO3(2-) sensitized by Tb3+ -CPLX. The relative CL intensity was linear with the concentration of CPLX in the range of 9.0 x 10(-9)-1.0 x 10(-6) mol x L(-1). The detection limit is 2.2 x 10(-11) mol x L(-1). The relative standard deviation (RSD) for the determination of 5.0 x 10(-8) mol x L(-1) CPLX is 3.0% (n = 11). The method has been successfully applied to the analysis of CPLX in tablet and capsule. An original mechanism was proposed to explain this phenomenon.
