Women, AIDS and reproduction

Relatively little has been written about how Aids affects women. When women are mentioned it is primarily as carers of people with Aids or as possible transmitters of the HIV virus, with the focus largely on prostitutes and pregnant women. The concern overwhelmingly is about how to protect the health of men and children, writes Diane Richardson.
