Inverted papilloma, a common benign nasal tumor, can present as cylindrical cell papilloma. This case highlights successful endoscopic excision for this rare sinonasal neoplasm.

Area of Science:

  • Otolaryngology
  • Pathology
  • Surgical Oncology

Background:

  • Inverted papilloma is the most common benign tumor affecting the nose and paranasal sinuses.
  • These tumors originate from the lateral nasal wall and middle meatus.
  • Histological features include inverted, exophytic, and cylindrical epithelial nests.

Observation:

  • A clinical case of nasal cylindrical cell papilloma is presented.
  • The tumor arose from the sinonasal tract.
  • The patient underwent endoscopic excision for treatment.

Findings:

  • Endoscopic excision is an effective treatment modality for nasal cylindrical cell papilloma.
  • The histological characteristics of inverted papilloma were observed.
  • Successful surgical management of this sinonasal tumor was achieved.

Related Experiment Videos

Implications:

  • This case contributes to the understanding of nasal cylindrical cell papilloma management.
  • Endoscopic techniques offer a minimally invasive approach for sinonasal tumors.
  • Further research into sinonasal tumor pathology and treatment is warranted.
