Abstract:
It known that human diploid cells in culture have a limited proliferative life span (cellular senescence). Recently, evidence has accumulated that known and unknown anti-oncogenes participate in this phenomenon. Deletion or inactivation of these genes resulted in unlimited proliferation (immortalization).
