Tryptase is a myeloid-specific marker in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), not found in acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Tryptase expression correlates with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in AML-M(2), suggesting a role in angiogenesis.
