Abstract:
Healthcare associated infections (HAI) are a major source of morbidity, as well as being a significant cause of concern for patients and healthcare workers. Nurses have a duty to prevent infection wherever possible. This article provides an overview of the standard precautions that all community healthcare workers must implement to reduce the incidence of HAI.
