INCREASINGLY COMPLEX TECHNOLOGY, a shortage of surgical first assistants, and the growth of surgical services provided the impetus for expanding the technical support assistant role in one facility. AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM was developed based on the job description and the participants' learning needs. PROGRAM EVALUATIONS were positive and reinforced the success of the educational program.
