Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of voice therapy for patients with post-treatment voice dysfunction after early glottic carcinoma.
  • To assess patient-reported outcomes and objective voice parameters following intervention.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized controlled trial involving 23 patients with voice impairment post-glottic carcinoma treatment.
  • Participants were assigned to either voice therapy (n=12) or a control group (n=11).
  • Multidimensional voice analyses, including Voice Handicap Index (VHI), acoustic, perceptual, and aerodynamic measures, were performed pre- and post-intervention.

Main Results:

  • Voice therapy led to statistically significant improvements in the total Voice Handicap Index (VHI) scores.
