Summary

Primary thyroid lymphomas exhibit features of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, not follicle center cell (FCC) tumors. These low-grade B-cell lymphomas show follicular colonization by centrocyte-like (CCL) cells, supporting their MALT classification.

Background:

  • Low-grade B-cell lymphomas of the thyroid often present with a follicular pattern, leading to classification as follicle center cell (FCC) tumors.
