Background:

Standing laparoscopic ovariectomy is an alternative surgical approach for mares.
Secure ligation of the mesovarium is crucial for successful ovariectomy.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe the use of a polyamide tie-rap for mesovarium ligation.
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of this technique in standing laparoscopic ovariectomy in mares.

Main Methods:

A prospective study involving ten mares undergoing bilateral ovariectomy.
A prepared polyamide tie-rap loop was used to ligate the mesovarium.
Repeat laparoscopy was performed at intervals to assess healing and complications.
