Lower esophageal sphincter analysis using computerized manometry in patients with chagasic megaesophagus

Computerized axial manometry reveals that patients with Chagas' megaesophagus have a hypertonic lower esophageal sphincter and esophageal aperistalsis. This advanced imaging technique offers superior assessment of lower esophageal sphincter function compared to standard methods.
