Abstract:
High quality clinical outcome, good oral health and prevention of oral diseases depend heavily on the patient's adherence to suggested behaviour. Improved awareness of psycho-social determinants of patient's health behaviours may aid to modify patient behaviour, increase patients' adherence, contribute to general health and quality of life of individual patients and the public and maximise the benefits that dentistry can offer.
