Summary

Systemic lupus erythematosus antibodies can damage the brain. Epinephrine opens the blood-brain barrier, allowing these antibodies to harm the amygdala, causing emotional and behavioral changes.

Background:

  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients often have antibodies (Abs) against double-stranded DNA.
