Approach to the patient with spinal disease
1Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Pullman.
Abstract:
The approach to the patient suspected of having spinal disease should be methodical to assure an accurate diagnosis that is cost-effective with minimal risk to the patient. Using a problem-oriented approach will facilitate attaining this goal. A neurologic examination should enable the veterinarian to localize to one of four spinal cord segments or the cauda equina.
