Auditory electrical tinnitus suppression in patients with and without implants.

Electrical stimulation effectively suppresses chronic tinnitus. Cochlear implants (CI) offer more efficient tinnitus treatment than extratympanic auditory electrical stimulation (AES) due to wider cochlear coverage and longer stimulation sessions.
