[Progress in glycated albumin assay and its clinical significance]
1Division of Clinical Laboratory, National Cardiovascular Center, Hospital, Suita.
Abstract:
Glycated albumin (G-Alb) measured as one of the glycated proteins is recognized to be the clinical significant index of blood glucose control at earlier stage rather than HbA1c. The borate affinity column (BAC) method is regarded as a reference assay method, but the assay of fructosamine (FRA) is widely used at present as the easier method of G-Alb. In this paper, the characteristics, problems and usefulness of BAC method and FRA assay were described.
