    Background:

    • Endogenous uveitis is an intraocular inflammation with various potential causes.

    Observation:

    • The indirect fluorescent antibody technique was employed to assess toxoplasma antibody prevalence.
    • Seropositive rates for toxoplasma antibodies were evaluated in healthy individuals, farmers, and patients diagnosed with endogenous uveitis.

    Findings:

    • Seropositive rates were 10.7% in healthy people, 15.2% in farmers, and 30.8% in endogenous uveitis patients.
    • Uveitis patients exhibited a significantly higher infection rate (P < 0.01) compared to healthy controls.
    • The odds ratio for toxoplasma infection in endogenous uveitis patients was calculated to be 3.72.

    • Toxoplasma infection emerges as a significant infectious etiology for endogenous uveitis.
    • These findings highlight the importance of considering toxoplasmosis in the differential diagnosis of endogenous uveitis.
