Effects of Exposure of Formaldehyde to a Rat Model of Atopic Dermatitis Induced by Neonatal Capsaicin Treatment

[Dimephosphone: results in atopic dermatitis]
Aim:
To validate dimephosphone usage in combined therapy of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD), mental and behavioral disorders.
Material And Methods:
An immunological study covered 80 patients with AD aged 15 to 75 years. The patients were divided into two groups: 39 patients of group 1 received psychotropic drugs and conventional treatment. 41 patients of group 2 received the same treatment plus dimephosphon. The control group consisted of 30 healthy donors aged 15 to 45 years. Immune status was assessed before and after the treatment.
Results:
Immune status of untreated AD patients was characterized by high phagocytic activity of neutrophils, HBT-test parameters in spontaneous and stimulated reactions, leukocytes, neutrophils, TNF-alpha; low phagocytic number and index. After the treatment, in group I nonspecific resistance and TNF-alpha did not change. In group 2 these parameters normalized.
Conclusion:
Adjuvant dimephosphone improves clinical course of AD, raises quality of AD patients' life. Positive effects of the drug are due to its ability to correct immune disorders in this pathology.
