Aim:
The present study evaluated the reliability of the Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Nursing Homes) (NPI-NH) Polish version.
Method:
43 nursing home residents fulfilling the ICD-10 criteria for dementia were assessed with NPI-NH.
Results:
For analysis of data we used Cronbach's alpha and Spearman's rank correlation coefficients. The internal consistency of the NPI-NH was satisfactory (Cronbach's alpha for the total was 0.25 and only 0.881 for the frequency and severity of symptoms). Spearman's rank correlation coefficients for the test-retest reliability was 0.75 for the total scale results and ranged from 0.40 to 0.85 for each symptom assessed. Interrater reliabilities were 0.86 for the total and from 0.71 to 1.00 for each symptom reported.
Conclusion:
The preliminary results of the Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Nursing Homes Polish version reliability were all satisfactory.
