1Division of Breast Oncology, National Kyushu Cancer Center.
Abstract:
Recently, the importance of a team approach to multidisciplinary medical treatment and care has been recognized. Patient's satisfaction must be the purpose of the team approach. With the progress of western scientific methodology, the biological approach to breast cancer has been well done. However, the biological-psychological-ethical-economical-social approach must be required. Key point of the team approach is considered to be the quality of communication between the patients and physicians and among the medical staffs. Listening is the most important for the communication skills. We believe that 'Care the human with illness leads to a good team approach, resulting to patient's satisfaction'.
