Antigenic competition between and endotoxic adjuvant and a protein antigen

Antigenic competition was studied using bovine gamma globulin (BGG) and Salmonella endotoxins in mice. Prior sensitization with smooth endotoxin (S-ET) suppressed the BGG antibody response, demonstrating an immunological basis for competition.
