Genetic differentiation of Mycoplasma species was studied using deoxyribonucleic-ribonucleic acid (DNA-RNA) homology. Researchers found distinct DNA in Mycoplasma hominis type 1 strains but not in tissue culture isolates, which were closely related to Mycoplasma hyorhinis.
