Effect of probucol on elderly hypercholesterolemic patients in the FAST study

Lipid-lowering therapies like probucol and pravastatin effectively reduced carotid intima-media thickness in elderly hypercholesterolemic patients. Probucol also showed a trend towards reducing mortality and major coronary events in this age group.
