    • Children with DLD exhibited reduced cerebral blood flow in the right putamen, right inferior parietal cortex, and left globus pallidus.
    • No areas of increased cerebral blood flow were detected in the DLD group compared to controls.

    Conclusions:

    • Functional defects in the basal ganglia and inferior parietal lobe are present in the resting brains of children with DLD.
    • These findings support the role of basal ganglia functional deficits in the etiology of DLD.
    • Results highlight potential targets for future research and therapeutic strategies.
