Summary

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection markers, specifically hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), are significantly associated with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC). HBeAg carrier status may amplify PHC risk in HBsAg-positive individuals.
