Both accidental trauma and strenuous exercise trigger systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). While exercise-induced SIRS involves heat shock responses, trauma-induced SIRS is linked to tissue damage and immune activation, with exercise promoting a balanced inflammatory response.
