[The effect of carbacholine and pentagastrin on pancreatic secretory function during adaptation to a hyperlipemic
Abstract:
Hyperlipemic diet (59% of fat) was found to increase the level of pancreatic secretion as well as its lipase activity in rats. The amylase and proteolytic enzyme activity was decreased. In hyperlipemic diet, carbachol and pentagastrin decreased the level of secretion and enzyme activity as compared with the balanced diet. Pentagastrin followed by atropine resulted in a considerable increase in lipase and proteolytic enzyme activity.
