Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the osseous integration of hydroxyapatite (HA) coated titanium implants versus pure titanium implants in a rat femoral model.
  • To evaluate the effect of time on the bone bonding contact for both implant types.

  • 20 rats received bilateral femoral implants: one pure titanium and one HA-coated titanium.
  • Implants were retrieved at 6 and 12 months post-surgery.
