Differences in microsatellite DNA level between asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Microsatellite DNA instability (MSI) is more frequent in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) than in asthma. This DNA-level difference may help distinguish between these respiratory conditions, though further research is needed.
