Factors that influenced my decision to become a surgical pathologist are presented below. Early childhood experience shaped my interest in epidemiology and public health. Formal education at Johns Hopkins Medical School cemented my decision to become a surgical pathologist and elective time with pioneers in the field of surgical pathology sealed my career choice.
