Korean hemorrhagic fever: nursing care critical to recovery

Army nursing personnel assigned to Korea arrive there with little knowledge of what unique illnesses soldiers may contract in this new field environment. One potentially life-threatening illness soldiers faced during the Korean War and still face today is Korean hemorrhagic fever (KHF). With a thorough understanding of the KHF disease process and the appropriate nursing actions, nurses and their staff can play a significant role in averting the serious progression of this disease.
