Genetic variations in Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and other genes are linked to stroke risk. Specific IL-6 polymorphisms may predict atherothrombotic cerebral infarction and intracerebral hemorrhage, while UCP3, TNF, and PKD1-like gene variants are associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage risk.

- UCP3, TNF, and PKD1-like gene polymorphisms may aid in assessing the risk for subarachnoid hemorrhage.
- Further validation in independent cohorts is necessary to confirm these findings.
