[Intestinal metastases from lung cancer]

Intestinal metastasis from primary lung cancers is rare and usually asymptomatic.

We report two cases of symptomatic small bowel metastasis. The first one presented with a persistent anaemia occurring in a 54 year old man who had undergone a left lower lobectomy for a large cell carcinoma. The second case was a 75 year old man who presented with peritonitis which led to discovery of a lung primary.

Intestinal metastasis can be the presenting feature of, or complicate lung cancer. Symptomatology depends on metastasis localisation. Their treatment is difficult and they are associated with a poor prognosis.
