Abstract:
Hospitals are spending millions of dollars to install a variety of information technology (IT) systems to improve patient care, reduce medication errors and track supplies and equipment. But unlike many clinical services, calculating a return on investment (ROI) for IT systems is difficult. Researchers at Florida State University in Tallahassee may have developed a methodology for hospitals to evaluate ROI from a hospital wide perspective.
