Abstract:
Mesogenic R2B Mukteswar strain of Newscastle disease virus derived from tissue culture and allantoic fluid was inactivated with binary ethylenimine (BEI). Oil-emulsion vaccines using both substrates were prepared and tested for their potency in chickens. The vaccines elicited a good serological response as assessed by haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test and had an adequate potency as evaluated by challenge test.
