  • Oncology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health challenge, affecting millions worldwide.
  • Breast tuberculosis is a rare manifestation, accounting for 0.1-3% of surgically treated breast diseases.

Observation:

  • A case of primary breast tuberculosis is presented.
  • Diagnosis was confirmed through pathological examination of an incision biopsy specimen.

Findings:

  • The patient achieved a complete cure following a four-drug anti-tuberculosis regimen.
  • This case underscores the importance of considering breast TB in differential diagnoses.

Implications:

  • Healthcare providers should include breast tuberculosis in the differential diagnosis for breast lesions, particularly in tuberculosis-endemic regions.
  • Early diagnosis and appropriate anti-tuberculosis therapy are crucial for successful treatment and patient outcomes.
