Abstract:
A novel glucose biosensor was constructed by electrochemical entrapment of glucose oxidase (GOD) into porous poly(acrylonitrile-co-acrylic acid), which was synthesized via radical polymerization of acrylonitrile and acrylic acid. The obtained biosensor showed a better stability and higher sensitivity than the biosensor prepared by simple physical adsorption. Effects of some experimental variables such as immobilization time, enzyme concentration, pH, applied potential, and temperature on the amperometric response of the sensor were investigated. The biosensor exhibited a rapid response to glucose (< 30s) with a linear range of 5 x 10(-6) to 3 x 10(-3)M and a sensitivity of 6.82 mAM(-1)cm(-2). The apparent Michaelis-Menten constant (K(M)(app)) was 7.3mM.
