  • The European Board for Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS) was established in 1996.
  • The European Coordinating Committee for Veterinary Training (ECCVT) was founded in 2005.

Observation:

  • Currently, Europe has approximately 1,500 recognized veterinary specialists.
  • These specialists are distributed across 21 distinct disciplines, categorized by organ, species, or field.
  • Each specialization is governed by a dedicated college.

Findings:

  • The EBVS comprises representatives from each college, setting rules and overseeing procedures.
  • The EBVS also manages appeal processes related to veterinary specializations.
