Summary

Genetic variations in the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) gene complex were studied in relation to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The lymphotoxin alpha NcoI polymorphism was linked to reduced lung function (forced vital capacity) in individuals with and without COPD.
