Summary

Supplementing alpha-tocopherol and ascorbic acid (vitamins) attenuated the decrease in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in red blood cell membranes during hepatitis C treatment. This vitamin intervention helped mitigate anemia linked to ribavirin therapy.
