A Bruno-like gene is required for stem cell maintenance in planarians

A novel RNA-binding protein, Bruno-like (bruli), is essential for maintaining planarian stem cells (neoblasts). Without functional bruli, planarians cannot self-renew their stem cell population, leading to tissue loss after injury.
