  • Computational physics
  • Statistical mechanics
  • Dielectric phenomena

Background:

  • Finite-temperature simulations of Coulomb gases in dynamical dielectric media were previously formulated using local Hamiltonians and bosonic fields.
  • The prior Monte Carlo algorithm exhibited inefficiency in large systems due to low acceptance rates for particle moves within a fixed multiboson field.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To address the inefficiency of existing Monte Carlo algorithms for large Coulomb gas systems.
  • To introduce an improved simulation method that enhances particle move acceptance rates.

Main Methods:

  • Development of a coupled particle-multiboson update procedure.
  • Application of the new method to simulate a one-component plasma with neutral dielectric particles.
  • Testing across a variety of system sizes to validate performance.
